The police are called when the near-lifeless body of a woman is found; as the investigation proceeds, details of an emotionally searing triangle involving two brothers and the woman begin to unfold, stretching back across decades. Using a fractured time frame that moves the action between her characters' childhoods, teen years and the present, director Sara Johnsen recounts an unsettling yet moving story of love, lust, jealousy and fear. Buoyed by three superb performances, the film counterpoints the beauty and seeming innocence of its idyllic rural settings with the dark, uncontrolled desires coursing through each of these characters lives.
