In the first half of the program, the WNO orchestra dazzles with a selection of rarely performed pieces.
--Verdi: Original Overture to Aida
--Mascagni: Overture to Le Maschere
--Puccini: Crisantemi for String Orchestra
--Puccini: Prelude and "La Tregenda" from Le Villi
Then, mezzo-soprano Dolora Zajick makes her company debut as she joins Italian tenor Salvatore Licitra, and American baritone Gordon Hawkins, and the WNO Orchestra and Chorus in a concert version of Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana.
