About

Join award-winning designer Steinunn Sigurd for Knitting Rhythm, a hands-on workshop celebrating the cultural and artistic value of knitting. From the novice to the expert, participants of all skill levels are welcome. Music and creative techniques will guide participants to new possibilities in knitting. Participants are asked to bring their own knitting needles and coarse yarn. Icelandic knitwear designer Steinunn Sigurd worked for several designer labels such as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, and Gucci, before establishing her own clothing line in 2000. Many of her designs evoke the Icelandic landscapes, from which she gets much of her inspiration. Her designs have won her several awards, including the Söderberg Prize (the first awarded to a clothing designer). She is the artist laureate of Reykjavík.
