--The New York Times
One of the brightest young instrumental talents to emerge from Finland today, Juho Pohjonen has attracted great attention as one of his country's most intriguing and gifted pianists. The San Francisco Chronicle raves, "Pohjonen boasts a dazzling keyboard technique and, even more impressively, a broad and varied textural palette that allows him to shade his performances with great subtlety." Now in his mid-twenties, he is striking out a distinctive path in both mainstream and contemporary repertoire. As part of the Kennedy Center's Nordic Cool 2013 festival, Pohjonen performs works by Grieg, Nielsen, and Mozart. This is your chance to hear for yourself what makes Pohjonen so special, as he brings a program that showcases his luminous virtuosity and crystalline technique.
