Cuarteto de los Misiones

Cuarteto de los Misiones, the San Luis Obispo SymphonyÆs string quartet, was formed 12 years ago as a way to introduce children to classical music in an intimate, friendly setting. The programs always include individual presentations by each of the four members, describing their instruments and inviting questions from their listeners. Cellist Ken Hustad recalls the inspiring visits from college musicians who brought the first live performances of classical music to his small, rural school in Minnesota. Hustad went on to learn to play piano, bass, and cello. Early success with a local rock band led to his decision to study music in college, and he obtained his degree from St.
