Efroni Choir

An extraordinary ensemble composed of girls ages 12 to 18, the Efroni Children's Choir has performed extensively in Israel and abroad, including an appearance at the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize awards ceremony. The group, founded in 1980 by Maya Shavit, draws its members largely from agricultural settlements. Efroni performances incorporate both singing and movement, a novel approach that has won the choir much praise. The ensemble's repertoire includes many works written for the choir by Israeli composers, along with traditional Jewish compositions. Massa U’Mattan was established in Jerusalem in 1995 by Mattan Klein and Yuval Cohen.
