Kurt Elling

Avant garde vocalist Kurt Elling took the Chicago music scene by storm and has since left audiences in awe worldwide. Kurt was DownBeat Critic's Poll "Talent Deserving Wider Recognition" in 1997, and JazzTimes Readers Poll named him "Best Male Vocalist" of 1998. By now, much has been said of the Kurt Elling's journey from graduate studies at the University of Chicago's Divinity School to becoming one of jazz's strongest, most invigorating male singers. Suffice to say that, in his own words, "I've always been a singer." From his days singing in church and school choirs to studying the violin and french horn, it took Elling until he was an undergraduate at Gustavus Adolphus College in St.
