Mary Gauthier

Singer/songwriter Mary Gauthier dropped out of high school and stole the family car at the age of 15, leaving behind Thibodaux, Louisiana, and heading for any place she thought she might ôfit in.ö In her search for finding what she calls ômy people,ö Gauthier found herself celebrating her 16th birthday in a Baton Rouge detox, and her 18th birthday in a Kansas City jail cell. That was just the beginning. Her parents returned her to Louisiana, only to have her steal the car again. This time, she never returned.
