The Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra

The Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra Bruce Kiesling, Music Director Having been founded in 1971, the Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary season. Seventy-five members strong, the orchestra is for aspiring musicians in the twelfth grade and under and draws members from the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina as well as form as far away as Virginia and Tennessee. The orchestra has had a long history of exciting performances of core orchestra repertoire and performed at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center in 1998. In addition to four regularly scheduled full orchestra concerts and two chamber orchestra/chamber music concerts a year, the GYSO offers occasional concerts for special audiences. Its ensembles perform throughout the community.
