Hailing from Owen Sound and now living in Toronto, TIM HARRISON made his debut in 1979 with the appearance of the much heralded recording, Train Going East. Since then, he has recorded In The Barroom Light (1985), The Stars Above (1995), Bridges (1997), Tim Harrison (1999), and Sara And The Sea (2001).
Enthusiastic response to his recordings and performance has led to tours across Canada, the US, and the UK, where Harrison has performed at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Toronto's Harbourfront Centre for the Performing Arts, the Stan Rogers Folk Festival, New York's Speakeasy, England's Midland Arts Centre and Scotland's An Lanntair Arts Centre. Tour plans for the near future also include a return trip to the UK and forays into mainland Europe and Australia.
He was the founding artistic director of the Summerfolk Music and Crafts Festival (Owen Sound), and has been the artistic director of the Mariposa Festival, the highly acclaimed "urban" folk festival, Northwinds, and the Eaglewood Folk Festival. His artistic vision earned him respect across the country as one of Canada's foremost artistic directors and creators.
