Luz Jimenez Herrera

Luz Angela Jimenez Herrera began her musical studies at age 10 in the Music Conservatory at Quindio, studying voice under Maestro Bernardo Sanchez and piano under Maestro Gert Deoux. Moving to Bogota, she continues her studies with soprano Vilma Rueda and tenor Manuel Contreras. Apart from her musical career, Miss Jimenez is also currently in the final stages of her business administration degree from the Central University of Bogota. Her principal musical activity has led her to the formation of the duet Sombra y Luz with Victoria Eugenia Hernandez. The duet is known for their musical interpretation of local Colombian folklore from the Andes region, in rhythms such as the bambuco, pasillo, waltz, and others.
