Please enjoy the ensemble created just for 2002 Sakura Matsuri by Hiroshi Chu Okubo with his family and friends from their belief in the spirit of the festival.
You will enjoy the ensemble of Japanese Folk and contemporary dance with Hiroshi Chu Okubo leading the collaboration with Taiko drum. Using unique Japanese music, the group will play the world music based on the members' international performance experiences.
Hiroshi Chu Okubo has been well received in twenty countries all over the world; he created the ensemble just for 2002 Sakura Matsuri.
Mioko Okubo and Toshiyo Irie from Attaka-za (theatrical group) have performed not only in Japan, but in the U.S., Europe, China, and Taiwan, their unique composition of Japanese folk dance with contemporary twist.
Yoshiko Nakagawa for Marimba Yoshiko Nakagawa is the winner of 1998 All Japan Marimba Contest; she has performed in Korea, Taiwan, Belgium and in the U.S. For 2002 Sakura Matsuri she will play marimbas with Sawa Usui to entice you with beautiful sounds.
