James King Quartet (The Kennedy Center)

James King Quartet

James King, bassist, has been a freelance jazz musician in the Washington Metropolitan area for over twenty years. He and his quartet are well known for their versatility and authenticity in playing all styles of music. The members of the group are Allyn Johnson, Piano; Marty Nau, Alto Saxophone; Nasar Abadey, Drums, and Mr. King on String Bass. James has worked with such jazz artists as Stanley Turrentine, Gary Bartz, Marlena Shaw and legendary pianist Teddy Wilson.
