Jeff Lang (The Kennedy Center)

Jeff Lang

Australian acoustic guitarist Jeff Lang is a native of Geelong, Victoria. His first instrument was the clarinet, but he swapped the clarinet for his sisterÆs discarded guitar. Lang spent his formative years listening to his fatherÆs Rory Buchanan, Ry Cooder and Eric Clapton records, and these were a source of inspiration to the budding musician. Emerging on the live circuit in 1990 and quickly gaining a reputation as an outstanding blues guitarist, Lang strengthened that position with a stint in Australian blues legend Matt TaylorÆs band, Chain. His slide guitar performances can be heard on TaylorÆs AIM CD, ôTrouble In The Wind.
