The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago (The Kennedy Center)

The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago

The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago exists to bring the vision of founders Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino to life. These two men envisioned a truly and distinctively American ballet company and founded The Joffrey Ballet in 1956. Gerald Arpino has carried on the strong tradition of The Joffrey Ballet as Artistic Director even to this day. In 1995, Gerald Arpino established The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago and moved the company's home to Chicago's downtown area. Since then, the company has flourished.
