The Jubilee Jazz Trio
Bassist Pat OÆLeary, was born in Buffalo, New York in 1955, and studied both piano and bass. He received a BA in music from Potsdam State UniversityÆs Crane School of Music. OÆLeary has toured the U.S. with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra, the Illinois Jacquet Orchestra, the Hal Galper Trio, and Teri Thornton, performing at Carnegie Hall and the JVC, Bell Atlantic and Newport jazz festivals. He also toured the world with Hampton, with whom he recorded such CDs as ôSentimental Journey.ö OÆLeary currently performs with the Perth Jazz Orchestra and teaches electric string bass at his alma mater.
Saxophonist/cornetist Scott Robinson was born in New Jersey in 1959. He received his BA from BostonÆs Berklee College of Music and, at the age of 22, became the schoolÆs youngest faculty member. Robinson has played for the President of the United State, at Carnegie Hall, the Village Vanguard and the Smithsonian Institution. He has performed and toured with such jazz greats as Buck Clayton, Lionel Hampton, and Paquito DÆRivera, appearing in more than 30 countries. Robinson has received four National Endowment for the Arts fellowships and has participated in several Grammy-nominated recordings.
Pianist Larry Ham was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, in 1954, and received a BA in music from the State University of New York/Potsdam. He has appeared at numerous international festivals include Grande Parade du Jazz, in Nice, France; Jazz Yatra, in Bombay and New Delhi, India; and the Ottawa Jazz Festival in Canada. Ham has toured with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra, was a featured soloist with the Illinois Jacquet Big Band, and has performed at the White House for Presidents Reagan and Clinton.
The Jubilee Jazz Trio is one of seven American jazz trios chosen to tour Africa, the Near East, South Asia and Latin and Central America as 2001 Kennedy Center-Department of State Jazz Ambassadors.
