Cathy Krier

Cathy Krier, born in Luxembourg in 1985, took her first piano lessons at the age of five with professor Benjamin Erlich at the Luxembourg Conservatory of Music. In 1998 she became a laureate of the Ibla Grand Prize, an international piano contest organized for gifted young musicians in Sicily. The decisive boost to her young career was undoubtedly her encounter with Professor Pavel Gililov, whose master classes she first attended in Krems, Austria in July 1999 on the occasion of the East/West Music Festival. As a result, she was admitted to his master class at the Musikhochschule in Cologne, where she is currently perfecting her musical education. In addition to her eloquent recital performances both in Luxembourg and abroad, Cathy has been able to achieve remarkable success in her interpretation of various piano concertos with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra and in the context of the Echternach Festival, the most prestigious Luxembourg musical event.
