Kusun Ensemble

The Kusun Ensemble is comprised of traditional musicians and dancers based in Ghana, West Africa. Founded by Nii Tettey Tetteh, the group includes past and present members of The National Ballet and The Pan African Orchestra. They perform the traditional rhythms of the Ga people as well as other indigenous music from West African cultures. The Kusun Ensemble takes audiences on a journey through life in West Africa. The songs tell stories of the railway projects where the men sing of longing and loneliness being so far from their families, stories of pregnant teenage girls and the village gossip, and songs the fishermen sing when they pull in their boats.
