Roslyn Langlois

Australian Roslyn Langlois’ career as a concert soloist was launched when as a teenager when she won the state final of the Concerto and Vocal competition of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), the national broadcaster of classical music in Australia, in her home state of Tasmania. She graduated with first class honors in performance from the Melbourne University Conservatorium of Music, and was subsequently a frequent soloist with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, a solo recitalist, live in concert and in state and national broadcasts, and associate artist to many of Australia’s fine instrumentalists and singers. She gained her Master of Music Performance in 1992 from the University of Tasmania. After her farewell concert from her home city of Hobart, Tasmania two years ago, the critique in the state newspaper read “…she delighted a capacity audience with quality performances…transparency of her Bach, warmth of her Schumann, scintillating interpretation of Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ clearly demonstrated her mastery of the keyboard…” (John Stafford, Mercury). In 1999 Roslyn and her husband John came to live in the United States to work as Director of Piano Studes and Director of Pastoral Care, respectively, of the Masterworks Festival, an annual performing summer arts festival established in 1997.
