Maggie Sansone

One of America’s premier hammered dulcimer players and recording artists. The Washington Post has said of Maggie Sansone’s work: “Few recordings span the gap of generations so gracefully… she’s managed to balance art and accessibility, past and present, with unusual care and deftness.”Sansone has been featured on CBS-TV Sunday Morning and NPR’s The Thistle & Shamrock, All Things Considered and Performance Today. Her recordings, concerts and collaborations that include: Ballet Theatre of Maryland, Teelin School of Irish Dance, Sony/BMG, Time-Life Records, Sirus/XM Radio, Ken Burns’ PBS documentaries and a three year US tour with Scottish Christmas featuring Bonnie Rideout, have drawn wide praise. She is recipient of numerous awards including Wammie awards from the Washington Area Music Association for Celtic/Irish Instrumentalist and Record Label of the Year and ANNIE award for Performing Arts in Maryland.
