Mamou Thiero

Mamou Thiero is the lead singer for a puppet masquerade troupe using marionettes with mystical origins that are a communicating link between water spirits and the fishing Somono and Boso peoples. These puppets are grouped into four categories: those used during the day, at night, from the water, and from the earth. Large water animal puppets, hippos, manatees, and large river fish such as capitaine, are manipulated to drumming rhythms.
