Eric Mintel is the leader of one of the finest straight ahead jazz quartets in the country today, the Eric Mintel Quartet. Eric's fourth CD release as a leader, Hopscotch, made it into the top 100 albums of 2002. Jazz icon Dave Brubeck wrote the liner notes to Hopscotch. Radio stations across the country are playing the Eric Mintel Quartet to positive reaction by the listening public. The Eric Mintel Quartet is a professional ensemble consisting of Eric Mintel on piano, Neil Wetzel on sax,
Dave Antonow on bass and Jeremy Berberian on drums. The quartet has been together since 1993.

Other projects include collaborations with symphony orchestra with performance of an original jazz/classical composition by Eric titled "Millennium Suite" which has had a performance a year since 1999. The quartet also performs original choral music combining it with jazz improvisation and works with many different choirs across the country. In July 2003 the quartet will
tour the United Kingdom for the first time. On this tour, the quartet will perform in concert halls, cultural centers, jazz festivals and jazz clubs introducing British audiences to the unique style of jazz and will represent our country in this cultural exchange. Eric Mintel lives in the Philadelphia area with his wife Darby and daughter Tess Mariah Mintel.

Eric was recently a guest on Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz on NPR. Eric and the quartet were recently featured on the QVC television network where they performed live and sold a 3 CD set of Eric's music. The quartet opened for Dave Brubeck at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia last March. Eric has just release a brand new CD titled Four on the Floor. This new CD is comprised of all original compositions by Eric Mintel and will be available the night of the Kennedy Center performance.
