Peter Mulvey (The Kennedy Center)

Peter Mulvey

In the early æ90s, and just out of college in Milwaukee, Peter Mulvey packed up his belongings and headed to Ireland, where he lived for six months, making money by playing his guitar on the streets of Dublin. While there, though, he heard that there was a booming acoustic music scene on the rise in Boston, and he decided to head back to the US to join the throngs. A day job churning out photocopies at KinkoÆs to sustain himself wasnÆt really for him, however. Swiftly fired from that job, Mulvey went down to the subways of Boston to play for commuters and raise rent money. Barely a year after hitting the subways, he won the Boston Acoustic Underground Competition.
