As an orchestral musician, she has performed under renowned conductors such as Seiji Ozawa, Mstilov Rostropovich, James Conlon and Christopher Eschenbach. Recent performance in several orchestras including Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra and New Haven Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Nagayoshi has studied at the Tokyo College of Music where she received Bachelor of Music degree. She has participated in the Japan Classic Competition and was awarded an Adjudicator's Special Prize.
Ms. Nagayoshi was a participant in the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and Tanglewood Music Center Festival where was a principal violist in the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra. She was awarded full scholarship for both festivals. At Tanglewood, she has also collaborated with a legendary composer, Elliot Carter.
An active chamber musician, she has performed string quartets with Norman Fischer, Erik Friedman and Jesse Levine.
Ms. Nagayoshi has studied with numerous well-known teachers, including Elisabeth Adkins, Syoko Aki, Hamao Fujiwara and Gerald Jarvis. She will be performing in the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra beginning this March.
