Chor der Kantonsschule Rychenberg Winterthur

The first prize winners in the "mixed youth choirs" category at the national Swiss choir contest of 1997, the Chor der Kantonsschule Rychenberg Winterthur consists of 52 students and 4 teachers, all members of the Winterthur High School. By the time the students enter the choir, they have two years of basic choral training behind them. The choir's repertoire ranges from Rossini to Rutter, from Handel to McCartney. Conductor Jurg Ruthi was born in 1957 in Zurich. He studied piano with Hadassa Schwimmer in Zurich, singing with Kurt Huber and Stephan Kramp in Winterthur, and conducting with Tsung Yeh in Southbend, Indiana.
