Salon Orchestra of Washington Trio
Kim Miller, violin, is currently concertmaster of the U.S. Marine Chamber Orchestra. This orchestra concertizes year round and provides musical support for The White House. He has been a member of this ensemble since the Ford administration. Miller graduated from the Peabody Institute Conservatory of Music in 1976 having studied with Charles Libove. Since moving to the Washington area, he has been very active in performing chamber music recitals with his own string quartet. He is an original member of the Salon Orchestra of Washington, and has served as its principal violinist since its formation in the mid 1980's.
Betty Bullock, piano, is active internationally as a soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist. She has performed in recitals in Washington at the Phillips Collection, the Kennedy Center, and Strathmore Hall, in New York at the Weil Recital Hall and the 92nd Street Y, in Boston at Harvard University as well as numerous performing arts centers along the East coast, France, Germany and Austria. She has appeared on national television with singers Paul Plishka and Gary Lakes, with violinist Isaac Stern at the Kennedy Center Honors, and with soprano Harolyn Blackwell in a concert for the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks. A native of North Carolina, Betty is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and has served as a faculty member at Duke University, the University of Richmond, and the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she also held the position of Associate Dean of the Conservatory. She is a founding member os the Salon Orchestra of Washington.
Marcio Botelho, cello, is principal cellist with the U.S. Marine Chamber Orchestra, and with the orchestra of the National Gallery of Art. He has been a soloist with the U. S. Marine chamber orchestra, Concert Artists of Baltimore, The Millbrook Orchestra, and with the National Gallery Orchestra. He is a cum laude graduate of the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati, and has earned a Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music. He is a frequent recitalist throughout the area and has been principal cellist with The Salon
Orchestra of Washington since 1990.
