Sandip Burman Trio

Tabla player Sandip Burman was born In Durapur, near Calcutta, and began his training on tabla at age six. After his initial training with Shri Sudhir Roy, he began a long discipleship with the distinguished Shymal Bose. Having received numerous degrees and awards, he has established himself as one of the most talented young tabla players in Indian classical music. Burman is a regular artist on All India Radio & TV and has played with such leading artists as Pandit Ravi Shankar, Chitresh Das, Buddhadev Das Gupta, Ali Ahamad Hussain, Jasraj Laksmi Shenker, and Hariprasad Chaurasia. He often performs with the bansuri player John Wubbenhorst, and his group Facing East.
