Kimiko Shimada

Kimiko Shimada (Soprano) received B.A. from Ochanomizu Women’s University and M.A. in Opera Studies from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music where she made her debut in Mozart’s Idomeneo playing the role of Elettra.

For the fifth year, the Millennium Stage brings together Japanese and American cultures as it hosts the Official Opening Ceremony of The National Cherry Blossom Festival including appearances by Shizumi’s Kodomo Dance Troupe, music by American composers and a grand finale showcasing exciting spectacles from Japan’s Dai Dengaku.
