Sonabo (The Kennedy Center)

Sonabo

Sonab= is a unique vocal ensemble composed of five singers of Latin American origin presenting innovative arrangements of traditional Latin American songs. Their music combines richly harmonized contemporary vocals with native instruments such as congas, cuatros and a wide variety of percussion instruments. Bass baritone Eduardo Tancredi, Sonab=Æs founder and artistic director, is a native of Uruguay and a graduate of Berklee College of Music where he is currently an assistant professor. In 1991 and 1992 Tancredi was the recipient of the Quincy Jones Award. He also performs regularly as a keyboardist in some well-known bands that regularly tour throughout the U.
