Allan Taylor

English singer/songwriter/instrumentalist Allan Taylor has achieved considerable acclaim on the UK folk circuit. Taylor left school at age 16, at which time he helped to organize local folk clubs and then turned professional five years later. With the release of “Sometimes,” Taylor began to attract the attention of the folk media, and in 1972 he moved to New York. His American album included a wealth of respected Nashville and LA session musicians, and in July 1975 Taylor formed the group Cajun Moon with Brian Golbey (fiddle) and Jon Gillaspie (keyboards). The group toured with Steeleye Span, but, after Taylor damaged his vocal cords and was forced to rest for a number of months, he returned to solo performances.
