The Jewels

The Jewels began as four talented young women who constantly sang together. This Roosevelt High School quartet hailing from Washington, D.C., were originally called “The Impalas," after the sleek and sporty automobile that was popular at the time. Their name was changed when a talent developer thought they were "jewels" when singing and performing.
