University of North Carolina: Greensboro Symphony Orchestra

The UNC-Greenboro Symphony Orchestra is comprised of over 90 musicians who are predominantly majoring in music at the UNCG School of Music. The orchestraÆs performances cover the entire gamut of the orchestral repertoire including the symphonies of Mahler and Bruckner as well as North Carolina premieres of American contemporary works. The orchestra has been twice awarded first-place honors by the National Opera Association for its participation in UNCG Opera Theater productions. Robert Gutter has served as Director of Orchestral Activities and Professor of Music at the UNCG School of Music since 1988. He is currently Music Director of the Fayetteville Symphony and the Philharmonia of Greensboro.
