University of North Carolina Greensboro Jazz Ensemble

The UNCG Jazz Ensemble is the flagship of the Miles Davis Jazz Studies Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. It was founded in 1967 and has been featured in concerts throughout the US and on radio and television. The Ensemble is comprised of undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in making jazz a major part of their musical training. The Ensemble performs student arrangements and compositions, as well as published charts. Jazz performers who have performed with the UNCG Jazz Ensemble include Clark Terry, Marian McPartland, Chris Murrell, Eddie Daniels, Marvin Stamm, Billy Taylor, and Jim Snidero.
