Irena Preda

Soprano Irena Preda comes from Ljubljana, Slovenia. The recipient of scholarships by The City of Ljubljana, Rotary Club Ljubljana and the Gallus Foundation, she studied at Trinity College of Music in London, where she graduated with distinction. Only two days after graduating, she made her operatic debut in the lead role of George Bizet’s Carmen. Most recently she portrayed Nina in the new Slovene opera Ljubezen kapital (Love Capital) at the Slovene National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana. She was invited by Montserrat Caballé to perform in her concert of arias by Giacomo Puccini in Zaragoza, Spain, which marked the 150th anniversary of the composer's birth.
