Ken Waldman

Ken Waldman, whose performances have been described as “haunting and melodic;…like being reminded of our very humanness and all the chances and changes still waiting to be discovered” (Cinthia Ritchie, Anchorage Daily News). Considered Alaska’s Fiddling Poet, Waldman is a former college professor with more than 350 poems and stories published in national journals, he produces poems, stories and fiddle tunes that combine to make a performance uniquely his own. Currently on a busy tour across the United States, he has played popular venues such as Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley, California; The ArtsCenter in Carrboro (Chapel Hill), North Carolina; Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and The Knitting Factory in New York City. For his Millennium Stage performance he will be accompanied by Doug Van Gundy, a versatile poet and multi-instrumentalist from Elkins, West Virginia.
