Sloan Wainwright

Sloan Wainwright grew up in Westchester County, NY where she began writing songs at the age of 10 and was performing at open mikes as a teenager. She studied composition and piano, took up the 5-string banjo, and performed solo throughout the Greenwich Village folk clubs. She married, had two children, delved into the culinary arts and became an established baker and successful business owner. During this time she was also composing music for theater and dance and was the recipient of several “Meet the Composer” grants. In 1990 she met up with guitarist/composer Stephen Murphy and with their collaboration a new phase began.
