The Washington Savoyards

The Washington Savoyards, Ltd., was founded in 1973 as the Montgomery Savoyards and changed its name in 1981 to reflect the fact that its performers, musicians, and patrons were coming from all over the Washington area. Audrey M. Shipp directed all Savoyards productions from the founding of the company until 1995 when she became Director Emeritus. Members of the Savoyards include singers, musicians, technical crew, production staffers, and members of the audience.
