Walking the Winds: American Tales

Conceived and directed by Deirdre Kelly Lavrakas Book and Lyrics by Calleen Sinnette Jennings, Mary Hall Surface, and Eric Wilson Music and Lyrics by Deborah Wicks La Puma Walking the Winds: American Tales was originally commissioned in 1995 by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for their "Traveling Young Players," an ensemble of 15 of the finest teenage performers in the Washington, D.C., area. Conceived and directed by Deirdre Kelly Lavrakas, the show premiered at the Kennedy Center in 1996 before touring throughout the Washington metropolitan area at venues such as the Cherry Blossom Parade, ChildrenÆs Hospital and the National Zoo.
