University of Nebraska-Lincoln

The Dance Division in the School of Music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, offers a BA degree in Dance which provides students with comprehensive training in ballet and modern dance. The program of study is a balanced and integrated curriculum, which combines dance with a strong liberal studies core. Students learn the cultural, theatrical, and performing aspects of dance, and are encouraged to explore and develop their personal creativity. This year, dance majors performed Broadway Lights, Fosse Nights, featuring works by Bob Fosse and other musical theatre choreography, presented through the very generous support from the National College Choreography Initiative (NEA and Dance/USA), The Cooper Foundation and the Nebraska Arts Council. ROBERT “BOB” FOSSE As a choreographer Fosse changed the course of Broadway musicals with his distinctively slinky, sexy style of dancing.
