Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra

The Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra is quickly becoming one of the leading ragtime ensembles in the United States. Formed by Andrew Greene at the University of Maryland in early 2010, the PRSO plays ragtime, theatre, and dance music using Mr. Greene’s collection of over 2,000 original orchestral arrangements from the ‘Ragtime’ Era. Recent engagements include concerts for the re-opening of the Levoy Theatre in Millville, NJ, the American Film Institute’s Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, MD, the Bradford County Regional Arts Council’s Sayre Theatre, the University of Maryland’s Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center in College Park, MD, the Central Pennsylvania Ragtime Festival in Orbisonia, PA, the Carolina Civic Center Historic Theatre in Lumberton, NC, and a return performance at the Levoy Theatre celebrating the anniversary of their re-opening. PRSO’s concert programs highly the music of the late 1800s and early 1900s, with selections by composers such as Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, W.
