KuKu (The Kennedy Center)

KuKu

Born in America to Nigerian parents, KuKu embraces the music of his birthplace, but traces of his origins are ever evident in his live and recorded works. His acoustic performances bring out his true essence of music and songwriting. His soon-to-be-released independent project, “Unexpected Pleasures,” deals with a recurring theme in KuKu’s music: love. KuKu’s audiences may be surprised that so many of his lyrics deal with love, (as he says, “people….are definitely not expecting this sound from a 6’4” African man”).
