La Salle Dance Orchestra

The LA SALLE DANCE ORCHESTRA is pleased to be performing on the Millennium Stage this evening as part of the festive opening night events for Thoroughly Modern Millie. Their most recent appearance at the Kennedy Center was in September to open the new South Plaza during the Prelude Festival. The large crowd enjoyed dancing to this great music under the stars on a beautiful late summer evening. Our program tonight is chosen to give you a taste of the dance music that was enormously popular all over the country during the period of the late 1920s and early to mid 1930s. The Carleston wasn’t the only dance that kept dancers on the floor.
