George Mason High School Jazz Ensemble

The Falls Church City Public Schools maintains a small, inclusive independent high school of approximately 600 students. The George Mason High School Instrumental Music Department consists of over 90 students participating in a variety of groups from symphonic band to brass and woodwind quintet to jazz ensemble. George Mason Jazz is comprised of 20 select musicians who rehearse after school. Last year, George Mason Jazz performed for the American Band Festival in Toronto, Canada and received first place. On January 10, they performed a benefit concert for the Tsunami Relief Project and earned $2500 to give to Save the Children.
