Patrick Karnahan

The Black Irish Band’s new folk-Americana CD, From the Forest, is a musical journey into the lives of those that work in the national forest.  Band songwriter Patrick Karnahan, who was employed with the forest service from 1978-1993, composed ten of the selections on the album.  Three of his compositions (“Into the Fire”, “The Ballad of John Muir,” and “Smokey”) have been chosen by the Smithsonian Museum to appear on their recording label as part of their CD celebrating the forest service.  This Millennium Stage performance will mark the Washington D.C screening of The Black Irish Band’s first music video of “Into the Fire.
