The Asian American Music Society presents “Celebrate Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month” with a concert featuring members from the Chinese Music Society of Greater Washington's Chinese Traditional Orchestra, Nova Music and Arts Academy, Washington Japanese Choral Society, Korean Traditional Music Ensemble of New York, and the Korean Washington Soloist Ensemble. The Asian American Music Society and the Embassy of Indonesia present an evening of Indonesian gamelan music (gongs, stringed instruments, wooden xylophone, bronze kettles, and drums on carved teakwood frames) and a shadow puppet show in which finely carved and decorated puppets are illuminated behind a white screen by a puppet-master.

The Asian American Music Society and Korean Cultural Service present “Songs of a Forgotten War,” commissioned by the Catholic University of America—19 movements composed by 19 composers, reflecting the 19 soldiers of the Korean War Memorial on the National Mall; and the world premiere of Reflections on Marguerite Higgins' “War in Korea,” commissioned by the Korean Cultural Service.
