Shiv Shakti Dance Company

The 13-member Shiv Shakti Dance Company, which hails from Princes Town, Trinidad, is committed to the development of culture in Trinidad and Tobago and the world over.  Founded by dancer/choreographer Michael Salickram in 1987, the group re-creates oriental Indian dance movements with a Caribbean touch, a unique concept that has contributed to their success and popularity.  They have toured extensively to Toronto, New York, Miami, Canada, Guyana, Jamaica, Barbados, Haiti, Suriname, Venezuela and India.  In 1991 in a concert in Trinidad, they performed with pop star MC Hammer.
