Los Gauchos De Roldán

Walter Rodán was born in 1943 in Tacuarembó, Uruguay, a hotbed of Uruguayan folk music. He comes from three generations of traditional accordionists and by 1951 was already playing the two-row button accordion at family events. In 1959 he became part of the famous duo “El Viejito del Acordeón,” and began to play weekly radio programs. In 1972 he left the duo and started his own radio program, “Walter Roldán and His Accordion” playing every Wednesday at 8:45 p.m.
