HIsako Tokue

Born in Tokyo, Hisako Tokue began to play the violin at the age of three. As a student of the famous Suzuki Method, she went on to study at Toho Music Conservatory and made her debut at the age of 12 with the Tokyo Symphony Conservatory, playing Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole. The celebrated Russian violinist, Leonid Kogan, invited Ms. Tokue at the age of 20 to the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. She has received many musical awards including the Mainichi and NHK Music Contest in Tokyo, the Aspen (CO) International Music Competition, the Long & Thibaud International Competition in France, and the Paganini Competition in Italy.
