The Laws

The Laws are a husband and wife singer songwriting duo that exploded onto the Canadian music scene in 2000 with the release of their first independent CD, Estimated Time of Arrival.   John Law got his first guitar when he was 14 and started taking lessons for a local blues guitarist in his hometown of Chatham, Ontario.  His natural abilities on the guitar, strong singing voice and natural ear for vocal harmonies were apparent, and he quickly put together his first band.  When he finished high school, he went to college and, realizing that he wanted to pursue a career in music, quit school and moved to Toronto.  He began to study the styles of Doc Watson, David Grisman and Tony Rice.
