Ailyn Pérez

Chicago-born soprano Ailyn Pérez, winner of both the Richard Tucker Award and Plácido Domingo Award, is one of today's most in-demand young stars. She is widely recognized as one of today's leading interpreters of Mimì in La bohème, whom she has portrayed at LA Opera, the Bolshoi Theater, Zurich Opernhaus, Cincinnati Opera, Florida Grand Opera, and the Salzburg Festival; and of Violetta in La traviata, which she has performed at the Royal Opera House, Vienna State Opera, Hamburg State Opera, Berlin State Opera, Cincinnati Opera, and San Francisco Opera. Other career highlights include performances at La Scala (Simon Boccanegra), Royal Opera House (Manon and Turandot), Glyndebourne Festival (Falstaff), Vienna State Opera (L'elisir d'amore), the Ravinia Festival (Le nozze di Figaro and Die Zauberfl?te), Salzburg Festival (Roméo et Juliette), and Valencia's Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia (Manon). Poème d'un jour, her debut album of French and Spanish art song, was released on Opus Arte in 2013. For her next recording project she joins her husband, tenor Stephen Costello, for their first album together titled Love Duets, scheduled for release on Warner Classics this spring.
